The Debut
A Filipina’s Debut is a celebration of adulthood, similar concept to a Quinceanera except for their 18th birthday. The event has many parts which includes the 18 roses, the 18 candles, special performances, and the Cotillion Dance.
The 18 Roses
During this part of the celebration there are 18 men, significant to the debutante, that hand a rose off and participate in a dance.
The 18 Candles
After the 18 roses, there are 18 ladies that will hand off candles and present a short meaningful speech towards the debutante.
The Cotillion Dance
The performance is a waltz dance with the debutante and 17 of her friends to represent the coming of her 18th birthday celebration
